This year the 2009 River Grandeur Pinotage brought fame to the Robertson valley by being the only Veritas double gold medal winner from this region.  Out of 1 733 entries only 64 supreme wines and brandies now wear the coveted double gold symbol of top quality and lovers of Viljoensdrift wines can be on the lookout for their favourite wine sporting a double gold sticker.

This 2009 River Grandeur Pinotage with its vibrant plum hue and bright fuchsia rim brings flavours of juicy ripe red fruit such as raspberry, strawberry and cherry with dried banana to the palate.  Enjoy now or put aside for 5-6 years for an unforgettable experience. 

The 2008 River Grandeur Shiraz with its white peppery and herbal aromas boasts with a gold 2010 Veritas medal, earning 17 points on the 20-point judging scale.  Shiraz lovers are sure to enjoy the deep purplish ruby colour, and the lovely bouquet of warm, ripe fruits, with touches of mocha and white pepper.  
The diverse and representative team of more than 100 Veritas judges, as well as the use of strict international judging standards, has earned this competition a reputation of being objective and consistent.
