Viljoensdrift @ Bougain Villas

Nr 1 Bougain Villas is the name of our beautiful self-catering cottage in the heart of the historic town of Montagu, nestled between the picturesque Klein Karoo towns of Ashton and Barrydale along the scenic Route 62.

Our cottage in Barry Street is within easy walking distance of the town centre, restaurants and the town’s quaint Saturday market. Further along the road you’ll find the world famous Montagu Leidam Sanctuary for birds, home to a vast variety of indigenous birds (approximately 18 resident species and 52 visiting species).

Montagu is famous for its awe-inspiring rock formations, orchards, vineyards, local herbs and healing hot mineral springs. Seek out the thrill of mountain biking, climbing, kloofing, abseiling, paragliding or venture out on a 4x4 adventure. Or enjoy an exciting mountain tractor ride, a fishing expedition or our Viljoensdrift River Boat Cruise on the Breede River 25 km from Montagu.

What to expect

The sunny open plan living cum kitchen area is fully equipped with all necessary amenities (stove, microwave, fridge, cutlery and crockery) with complimentary coffee/tea at your disposal.

The airy yet cosy cottage has two bedrooms – one with two single beds and en-suite bathroom (shower), the other with a king size bed and separate bathroom (bath). Both bedrooms boast luxuriously crisp white percale bedding and fluffy towels.

The under cover patio is the perfect place for an early morning al fresco breakfast and overlooks the beautiful garden which abounds with vibrant bougainvillea. The lock-up garage offers safety to your vehicle.

Directions

Driving into Montagu (Langstraat) from Ashton, turn left into Barry Street – 100 m along turn left between two white pillars with the Bougain Villas sign. First house on your right is nr 1.

This includes a complimentary Viljoensdrift River Boat Cruise voucher for two and a bottle of our superb wine. The tariffs are subject to a minimum of two (2) nights stay.
